Jack Merrick-Thirlway creates the hair looks for Julien Fournié’s AW23 collection at Paris Haute Couture

<h5> How to achieve the look: </h5> <p>Before the show, Jack created a shape, that would he would later attach to the models hair, by sewing two pieces of full textured hair structures together</p> <p>He also created tentacle like structures using hair extensions and the Marcel Wave technique that he would later pin to the models’ hair.</p> <ul> <li>Section the hair from ear to ear over the top of the head and clip the front section away.</li> <li>Tie the remaining hair (back section) into a tight bun above the occipital bone to create an elongated shape to the head, fitting with the first creatures theme of the show.</li> <li>Pin the previously made hair structure over the bun creating a large shape , ready for moulding.</li> <li>Using clippers, create an elongated, alien-like structure that flows with the natural hair.</li> <li>Wrap the structure in a hair net and spray with L’Oreal Professionnel Infinium hairspray. Diffuse whilst spraying to create a very smooth finish.</li> <li>Add <a href="https://old.nevillehairandbeauty.net/product/loreal-techni-art-density-material-100ml/" target="_blank">L’Oreal Professionnel Density Paste</a> and <a href="https://old.nevillehairandbeauty.net/product/loreal-professionnel-tecni-art-liss-control-smooth-gel-cream-150-ml/" target="_blank">L’Oreal Professionnel Liss Control</a> to the front section before brushing towards the back of the head to further amalgamate the natural hair and the sculpture together.</li> <li>Fix the tentacle structures using pins.</li> </ul>

<h5> How to achieve the look: </h5> <ul> <li>To achieve the correct texture, spray roots with water and then apply L’Oreal Professionnel Tecni Art Pli on damp hair.</li> <li>Blowdry the hair in small sections using a medium sized brush making sure that curls at the ends of the hair are bouncy.</li> <li>Set hair in large rollers and apply L’Oreal Professionnel medium hold Infinium hair spray and leave for around 45 minutes.</li> <li>Release the rollers and section by section brush hair sofly to create body.</li> <li>Leave the fringe until last.</li> <li>Add <a href="https://old.nevillehairandbeauty.net/product/loreal-professionnel-tecni-art-liss-control-serum-50-ml/" target="_blank">L’Oreal Professionnel Liss Control Serum</a> to create smooth ends.</li> <li>Back comb the crown of the head to extend the head shape.</li> <li>Add <a href="https://old.nevillehairandbeauty.net/product/loreal-professionnel-tecni-art-super-dust-volume-texture-powder-7g/" target="_blank">L’Oreal Professionnel Super Dust</a> to the roots to eliminate shine and create more texture and then set the look with a mist of L’Oreal Professionnel Infinium medium hold hairspray.</li> </ul>

<h5> How to achieve the look: </h5> <ul> <li>Apply <a href="https://old.nevillehairandbeauty.net/product/loreal-professionnel-tecni-art-pli-heat-activated-styling-spray-190-ml/" target="_blank">L’Oreal Professionnel Tecni Art Pli</a> to damp hair and rough dry to 70-80% dry using a soft brush.</li> <li>Section hair into small sections and blow dry using a round brush wrapping the hair around the brush until completely dry.</li> <li>Once each section is dry, add large rollers and clip into place.</li> <li>When all hair is in rollers, spray with L’Oreal Professionnel Infinium spray.</li> <li>Apply heat all over with a diffuser and leave to cool down.</li> <li>Once completely cooled release silver clips.</li> <li>Using a shot of cold air from the hairdryer, release the curls to create natural volume.</li> <li>Use fingers to separate and dress.</li> </ul> <p> All show pictures by Ambra Vernuccio </p>
